My reimagining of the iconic wing chair invites you to question what is cast in shadow. The choreographed movement around the chair, inspired a series of semester long investigations relating to choreography and movement in the redevelopment of the Battery Maritime Building (BMB).
Challenging the traditional performer - spectator roles, my design for the BMB Artist Residency and Performance venue allows guests to enter through the backstage and walk through the theatrical curtains. The sculptural path leads guests through the various performance studios for unique experiences and encounters celebrating the art of movement and dance.
